Emilie came to The Pennfield School in 2023. Previously, she had been teaching in Washington D.C. where she had the opportunity to work in both Title I elementary schools and larger private schools. It was in these environments where she developed a passion for research regarding child development and special education practices. Although she loved her time in D.C., Emilie considers Rhode Island home. When she decided to move back to Rhode Island, she was looking for a supportive school community that held similar educational philosophies to her own. She found just that and more at Pennfield, and is excited to continue learning and growing alongside her Kindergarten students.
Outside of school, Emilie enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and reading – she’s currently working her way through all of Agatha Christie’s novels. She is also a licensed mixologist and loves experimenting and creating innovative combinations.
