The Pennfield School is an independent elementary school in Portsmouth, RI, with an enrollment of 175 students, in preschool through eighth grade. The mission of The Pennfield School is to create an inclusive community of dedicated learners, where students are given a foundation and appreciation for the joyful pursuit of understanding, while fostering respect for oneself and others as a way of life.

Communications Manager

The Pennfield School in Portsmouth, Rhode Island is seeking a part-time Marketing and Communications Manager.  This person will be responsible for developing and implementing a marketing plan that blends all types of media including print, digital, social media and public relations to support enrollment and retention under the guidance of the Director of Admission.  Other responsibilities include the creation, editing and publishing of school materials for internal and external distribution, promoting school events in the wider community, overseeing the website and social media and taking photos and videos at events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of communications and marketing experience.
  • Professional writing and editing skills.
  • Social Media experience.
  • Highly organized, efficient and flexible.
  • Team player but self motivator.
  • Creative, dynamic individual.
  • Design experience preferred.
  • Eye for detail and design.
  • Prior experience working in an independent school preferred.
