This spring, The Pennfield School received an exciting and generous gift that will echo through the halls for years to come: a full classroom set of Tubano drums, thanks to a grant from the Tiverton-based organization, Up with School Arts.
The grant was awarded to help expand musical opportunities for all Pennfield students—from preschoolers just beginning their musical journey to eighth graders deepening their skills. With these new Tubano drums, students will experience hands-on rhythm-making, explore global drumming traditions through ethnomusicology, express themselves creatively through sound, and most importantly—have fun!
This set of drums is more than just a new addition to the music room; it’s a legacy gift that will enhance the Pennfield music program for future generations.
