Erin accepted a teaching position at Pennfield in 2025. After receiving her undergraduate degree in education and English from Manhattan College, Erin taught 5th and 7th grade ELA in New Jersey public schools from 2007 to 2015. She was also the moderator of the newspaper and yearbook. She left in 2015 to pursue a career in travel writing, which she had started in 2010 while pursuing her Master’s with a thesis in blogging in the classroom.

During her break from teaching she explored the world as a travel writer for two years before settling down in New Jersey when her son was born. During this time, she worked as a Web Content and Social Media Manager at an all-girls Catholic School in Northern New Jersey. She settled in Rhode Island in 2020 with her family, for what was supposed to be for a year. But she knew Aquidneck Island was where she wanted to raise her son. He started kindergarten at Pennfield and it became a second home and sanctuary for the whole family. Erin is thrilled to be returning to teaching in a place as special as Pennfield.

When she is not teaching, Erin also enjoys adventuring locally with her son, living near the beach, reading, writing, gardening, painting, and traveling any chance she can. She has been to 35 countries across 6 continents (India, Botswana, and Croatia are her top three) and all the states aside from Alaska. She writes a monthly family column for Newport Neighbors magazine and founded Newport Families in 2022.
