Looking for unforgettable summer camps for children in Rhode Island? The Pennfield School offers a vibrant lineup of programs for ages 3–14, with exciting options in science, sustainability, performing and visual arts, outdoor games, and nature exploration. Whether your child loves to create, discover, or just have fun, summer at Pennfield brings learning and joy together.
Drop off begins at 8:30 a.m., and camp instruction starts at 9:00 a.m. each morning. Pick up for kiddie camps (ages 3-5) is at 1:00 p.m. with an option to extend the day to 3:00 p.m. All other camps end at 3:00 p.m.
Week 1: June 22-26
Kiddie Camp – Under the Sea: ages 3-5
Dive into fun and join us for a week of ocean adventures! Children will be engaged through storytelling, arts & crafts, and outdoor games. All children must be potty trained.
Force & Motion Lego Lab: grades 1-2
Get ready to explore the world of forces and motion with LEGO Education BricQ Motion Essential. Young builders will work in teams to design and create objects that change speed or direction using pushes and pulls. Each day, campers will tackle a new challenge, brainstorming, building, and presenting their final creations. Through hands-on fun, they’ll learn how things move while building teamwork and problem-solving skills! (Instructor: Shannon D’Eramo)
Act Out!: grades 1-5
Get ready to take the stage and explore the magic of theatre! Campers will dive into pantomime, puppetry, storytelling, and improve, using their imaginations to bring stories to life. Throughout the week, actors will build confidence, work with friends, and have a blast performing together. We’ll end the week with a special performance for family and friends. Bushcraft – Summer Survivor Part Deux: grades 4-8
the next evolution of Pennfield’s Bushcraft program, designed for students ready to push further, dig deeper, and take on new levels of challenge in the wild.
This camp will be held off campus, on the shores of Sandy Point. Participants will build on foundational bushcraft skills while taking on expanded survival challenges, including advanced shelter construction, refined fire and foraging techniques, fish-catching strategies, and tribe-based survival trials that reward resilience, creativity, and cooperation. Each week introduces new scenarios, unfamiliar conditions, and problems that require students to adapt and persevere.
Expect long days outdoors, real-world problem solving, muddy boots, and unforgettable experiences. (Including AWESOME BBQ’s!!) This is not just an outdoor camp, it’s a test of grit, growth, and teamwork.
Disclaimer: This camp requires strong listening skills, responsibility, determination, and a positive, can-do attitude. Let’s get excited for the 4th of July! Children will be engaged through storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor games. All children must be potty trained.
Sweet Treats Baking Camp: grades 1-3
Get ready to mix, dip, decorate, and laugh! Join us for a week of fun-filled baking, where campers dive into the delicious world of sweet treats! We will explore the world of sweets with hands-on fun, creating a variety of no-bake desserts, baking themed crafts and games, and will end the week off with cake decorating! Campers will also design their own customized apron to wear as they bake! With every sprinkle and swirl, campers will enjoy a week of creativity, laughter, and delicious delights, leaving with tasty treats and unforgettable memories! (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)
Be an Artist Everyday: grades 2-5

Kiddie Camp – Pixie Dust and Heroes: ages 3-5
Join us for a week of favorite characters and magical adventures! Children will be engaged through storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor games. All children must be potty trained.
Under the Sea: grades 1-3
Dive under the sea into a week of ocean-themed fun filled crafts, games, and activities inspired by the sea. Campers create ocean-themed slime, design sandcastles, and explore sea life and creatures. Campers will have a week filled with discovery under the sea where fun, imagination and exploration create an unforgettable week. Lego STEAM Builders Camp: 3-4
Step into the world of hands-on learning with LEGO Education SPIKE Essentials. Campers will explore exciting STEAM concepts through storytelling, building, and problem-solving with LEGO elements. Using their creativity and critical thinking students will engage with relatable mini figures and everyday themes, all while developing essential skills in math literacy and social-emotional learning. Does your camper enjoy building, problem solving, or unleashing their creativity? If so, this camp is for you! This creative STEAM camp invites students to explore how ideas turn into real-world creations through hands-on design challenges and problem-solving. Campers will experiment with building, testing, and redesigning their own projects, while also collaborating with their peers around them. Throughout the week, campers will engage in different STEAM challenges, such as designing foil boats, bridges, and chain reaction machines! Safari Adventures: grades 1-3
Safari Adventures Camp immerses campers in the wonders of the natural world. Through imaginative exploration, hands-on discovery, and playful challenges, children learn about different animals and habitats around the world. Throughout the week, campers will learn about different animal habitats, engage in wildlife-themed games and activities, and lastly explore the world around them through nature walks and scavenger hunts around the Pennfield campus. All while having fun in an environment that fosters friendship and teamwork, campers will learn about wildlife around the world and the living world around them! (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)
Gone Fishin’: grades 4-8
Dive into an unforgettable adventure at Pennfield Fishing Camp, hosted off the pier at scenic Glen Manor! Designed for students in grades 4-7, this interactive camp teaches the essential fishing skills needed to reel in Rhode Island’s trickiest fish, including weakfish, scup, flounder, and bluefish. Each day is packed with thrilling catches, hands-on lessons, and the excitement of preparing and cooking the day’s bounty. Campers can also enjoy some well-deserved cool-off time in the refreshing waters of the Atlantic. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or casting a line for the first time, Pennfield Fishing Camp promises fun, learning, and unforgettable memories!

An extension to All About STEAM camp, this creative STEAM camp invites students to explore how ideas turn into real-world creations through hands-on design challenges and problem-solving. Throughout the week, campers will engage in different STEAM challenges and activities, such as constructing their own arcade games, designing bridges, and learning about wind energy when building wind-powered contraptions! Through collaboration, creativity, and curiosity, students engage in thoughtful exploration and creative problem-solving.
