Spend the Summer at Pennfield

We have a fun-filled lineup of programs for children ages 3-14! Designed to provide new experiences and exciting learning opportunities, there is something for everyone: science, sustainability, outdoor games, performing & visual arts, exploring nature, and just plain fun!

NEW THIS YEAR: We have two, three week theatre experiences for aspiring young actors.

We’re also thrilled to offer a 10% discount to any camper who signs up to join us for all 9 weeks of our summer programming.

Drop off begins at 8:30 a.m., and camp instruction starts at 9:00 a.m. each morning. Pick up for kiddie camps (ages 3-5) is at 1:00 p.m. with an option to extend the day to 3:00 p.m. All other camps end at 3:00 p.m.

Week 1: June 17-21

Kiddie Camp – Under the Sea: ages 3-5

Dive into fun! Children will be engaged through storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor games. All children must be potty trained. (Instructors: Sarah Evans & Shannon D’Eramo)

Full STEAM Ahead:  grades 1-3 (This camp is FULL. Please email summer@pennfield.org to be added to a waitlist.)

Get ready to explore, innovate, and problem solve! Join us for a week of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, sparking creativity and critical thinking through hands-on activities, experiments, and collaborative projects. (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)

Soccer Skills: grades 1-4

Learn and practice soccer skills, techniques, and tactics! Participants will be challenged to learn and try new skills each day from an experienced Division 1 collegiate player. We’ll practice good sportsmanship through fun games and teamwork activities. Sign-up for a fun and memorable week!  *Shin-guards and cleats are required. (Instructor: Veronica Hardy)

Wizard Academy: grades 4-8

Our favorite wizarding school is coming to Pennfield! Get sorted and begin your magical education. Make your own magic wand, sample butter beer, play wizard sports, and experiment with magical potions alongside your fellow housemates. (Instructor: Kaylee Jackson)

Gone Fishing: grades 4-8

Come join Mr. Schreiber at Sandy Point for days packed full of bottom fishing. We will focus on techniques and tricks to catch some of the most finicky fish of the northeast.  Learn how to jig on a pier or toss a popper for a chance at bluefish… the possibilities are endless! Campers will need a rod and reel and should be able to hike to the pier. Bait and jigs will be supplied. (Instructor: Sam Schreiber)

Week 2: June 24-28

Kiddie Camp – Sweet Treats: ages 3-5

Cookies, cakes, candy – oh, my! Children will be engaged through storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor games. All children must be potty trained. (Instructors: Sarah Evans & Natalie Johnson)

Force & Motion Lego Lab: grades 1-2

From defining problems to brainstorming innovative solutions, children will explore forces and motion while unleashing their creativity with Lego bricks. Campers will embark on exciting building challenges and conduct investigations about the cause and effect of push and pull forces. Join us for a week of hands-on exploration, collaborative building, and endless fun! (Instructor: Shannon D’Eramo)

Creative Campers: grades 1-3

Explore the performing arts with Creative Campers! From music-making to dance moves and artistic creations, unleash your creativity. Showcase your talents at the end of the week and celebrate a journey of artistic discovery! (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)

American Doll Explorers Camp: grades 1-4 (This camp is FULL. Email summer@pennfield.org to be added to a waitlist.)

Campers will have a blast unleashing their creativity by integrating the components of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) and history. Through cooking, crafting, and conducting science experiments, the past will come alive. (Instructor: Meredith Botelho)

Ocean Odyssey: grades 1-4

Dive into the depths of discovery and join us for a week of adventure beneath the waves! Campers will embark on an exciting journey to explore underwater species and the diverse ecosystems they inhabit. Engaging in underwater activities and crafts, campers will immerse themselves in the wonders of the aquatic world, fostering curiosity and appreciation for marine life. (Instructor: Jenna Monell)

NEW! Theatre Kids – A 3 Week Acting Adventure: grades 3-6

The curtain is rising on a new theater camp this year! Campers will stretch their imagination and creativity during this 3 week camp. Campers will immerse themselves in the world of theater, learning fundamental techniques and skills. Through engaging activities and rehearsals, they’ll bring their creativity to life, culminating in a captivating performance of a short play on the final day. Amazing Race: grades 5-8

Get ready for an unforgettable journey! Similar to the popular television show, campers will be divided into teams and tasked with completing various challenges to uncover the next clue in their quest. Teams will race against the clock and each other. (Instructor: Kaylee Jackson)

Week 3 (mini camp week): July 1-3 

Kiddie Camp – Party in the USA: ages 3-5

Let’s get excited for the 4th of July! Children will be engaged through storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor games. All children must be potty trained. (Instructors: Karen Lambert & Natalie Johnson)

Seeing the World: grades 1-3

Delve into diverse traditions, games, and music from around the globe. Celebrate Independence Day with an exploration of its significance and a hands-on STEM experiment creating fireworks as we end the week with a 4th of July celebration. (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)

Party in the USA: grades 1-4

Join us for a week of red, white, & blue fun with crafts, games, and festive activities leading up to the 4th of July. (Instructor: Jenna Monell)

Animal Art: grades 1-4

Paint a variety of animals using fun new techniques and styles. Discover interesting bits of art history as we create projects inspired by the masters and other fascinating artists. (Instructor: Blayney Norton-Hayes)

All Sports Fun: grades 5-8

Join us for a week filled with fun and friendly competition! Each day we’ll focus on a different sport. We will practice drills, learn techniques and skills, and then compete with fellow campers. (Instructor: Kaylee Jackson)

Week 4: July 8-12

Kiddie Camp – Dino Discovery: ages 3-5

Calling all junior paleontologists! Children will be engaged through storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor games. All children must be potty trained. (Instructors: Karen Lambert & Dana Staats)

Into the Galaxy…and Beyond!: grades 1-3

Make “space” this summer for science, crafts, and fun! Campers will explore the solar system and real life space explorations as they create “out of this world” projects, play games, and make discoveries. (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)

Magical Animation Celebration: grades 1-4

Celebrate and learn the secrets behind some of your favorite animated movies. We’ll dive into the magic and artistry that bring stories to life on the big screen. (Instructor: Jenna Monell)

Mad About Science: grades 1-4

Learn all about the fun world of science! From science experiments to discovering how things work, the week will get your brain turning and hands learning. (Instructor: Kaylee Jackson)

Be an Artist Everyday: grades 2-5

Discover your inner artist! Learn art from and create something new each day while learning about some of the art masters from around the world. Have fun learning art techniques with a variety of unique art materials. (Instructor: Blayney Norton-Hayes)

Week 6: July 22-26

Kiddie Camp – Outer Space: ages 3-5

Get ready to blast off! Children will be engaged through storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor games. All children must be potty trained. (Instructors: Karen Lambert & Natalie Johnson)

Winter in July: grades 1-3

Chill out and experience the cool delights of winter. Campers will enjoy a week filled with frosty fun, engaging in winter-themed games, activities, and more. From virtual skiing adventures to exploring the science behind snowfall, every day brings new discoveries. We’ll culminate our chilly journey with a festive winter party, complete with snow-making, crafting ice cream cone trees, and other frosty delights. (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)

Super Hero Adventures: grades 1-4

Through a series of engaging activities and crafts, campers will uncover the thrilling stories and remarkable abilities of their favorite superheroes. From crafting iconic emblems to creating superhero personas, every moment is an opportunity to honor and celebrate the heroes who inspire us. (Instructor: Jenna Monell)

Mad About Science: grades 1-4

Wilderness Creations Camp: grades 3-5

Immerse yourself in the wonders of the wilderness while unleashing your creativity! This camp will include lots of outdoor time enjoying the Pennfield campus, trips to Sandy Point Beach, the ALT Greenway Trail, and the Glen. It’s the perfect blend of outdoor adventure and artistic exploration, where campers can discover the beauty of nature through hikes, nature walks, and hands-on activities. From crafting nature-inspired artworks to learning outdoor skills, everyday is an adventure waiting to be explored. (Instructor: Jane Kirkpatrick)

Into the Wilderness: grades 1-3

Join us for a week of exploration and discovery! Through outdoor exploration, campers will observe and describe life in different habitats, understanding how conditions foster survival. They’ll also compare these habitats to their own, gaining a deeper appreciation for the diverse ecosystems around them. (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)

Out of This World: grades 1-4

Garden Explorers: grades 1-4

Get ready to cultivate friendships and grow your love for the natural world in this exciting botanical exploration! Campers will discover the magic of nature as they explore different types of plants and flowers through engaging activities and crafts. From seed planting to floral artistry, every day promises new discoveries and hands-on experiences that inspire curiosity and creativity. (Instructor: Jenna Monell)

Once Upon a Time: grades 1-4

Embark on a magical journey of storytelling. Campers will explore captivating tales through reading and engaging short clips. Along the way, they’ll unravel the secrets of storytelling, discovering the essential parts of a story and the significance of its characters. Campers will embark on a journey through the fascinating world of animals. Each day offers new discoveries as we delve into different species, learning about their habitats, behaviors, and unique characteristics. Through hands-on exploration and creative activities, campers will deepen their understanding and create vibrant diagrams and pictures to showcase their newfound knowledge. Get on the Dance Floor: grades 1-4

Join us for the ultimate dance party! From hip-hop to ballet, salsa to jazz, campers will discover the joy of movement and the endless possibilities of expression on the dance floor. Through engaging activities and crafts, participants will boogie their way to a week filled with rhythm, laughter, and unforgettable memories. (Instructor: Jenna Monell)
