Jane Kirkpatrick

Jane has been a part of the Pennfield community since 2016, working as a long-term substitute in Pre-K, 1st and 2nd grades, as an assistant teacher in kindergarten, and now as the fifth-grade teacher. Her interest in teaching began after college when she became a member of Teach For America’s initial corps. She taught elementary school in Brooklyn, NY and Oakland, CA. She has also worked in investment research & client services with Dresdner RCM Global Investors LLC and Goldman Sachs. Before settling at Pennfield, Jane worked as a Development Associate at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center in Newport. She has held leadership positions in numerous non-profit organizations, including Aquidneck Land Trust and Portsmouth Youth Sailing.

She lives in Portsmouth with her husband, just down the hill from Pennfield. On most days she can be spotted walking her dog, Delilah, throughout the Glen. Her two grown children live in NYC. She loves working with kids and especially teaching 5th grade! When not in school, she enjoys learning, traveling, practicing yoga, sailing, biking, and all things outdoors!
