Amy Sylvia brings valuable teaching experience to The Pennfield School, having spent four years working in a variety of classrooms at Wilbur and McMahon School in Little Compton, as well as in diverse learning environments in Taunton and Bridgewater. Her background includes serving as a long-term substitute in first grade and working as a paraprofessional supporting students with special needs. These experiences have deepened her commitment to fostering inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environments that promote learning through exploration. Having always admired the Portsmouth community, she is delighted to now contribute her skills and passion for teaching here.
Outside the classroom, Amy enjoys reading and discovering new places in the area. She also has a strong background in dance, having studied jazz, tap, and ballet for over ten years, though she is currently taking a break from formal training. Amy is thrilled to be part of the Pennfield School community and grateful to join such a welcoming and dedicated team.
