Shannon’s journey at Pennfield began in 1996. She initially joined as the school’s first preschool assistant, working with Polly Bradley the head preschool teacher in Pennfield’s new preschool program. After an exhilarating year, she left for other teaching opportunities, but returned in 2021 and is now one of the school’s lead Pre-K teachers.
With over two decades of service at The Newport County YMCA, Shannon held diverse positions rising to the role of COO. However, the pandemic curtailed her YMCA career, leading her to return to working in the classroom with young children. Certified as a reading specialist in Rhode Island, she freely shares her love of reading with her students. She’s also a certified Kids Yoga instructor, former Girl Scout Leader, and volunteer at numerous organizations.
Shannon’s hobbies include spending quality time traveling with her family, pickleball, yoga, boating, concerts, beach time, dinner with friends, and just about anything that allows her to be healthy.
