Sustainable Art – Cubist Portrait Sculptures

By February 14, 2019April 14th, 2019News

7th grade artists completed their artistic inquiry and investigation of Cubism with cubist sculptures. The students first worked on drawing a portrait in the Cubist style, showing many angles of the face all at once. They took these sketches and brainstormed creative ways to convert them to 3D art.

The artists repurposed pizza boxes from Friday lunches, discarded paper towel rolls, and used wooden bases to construct these one of a kind sculptures. Each student took the time to consider the many angles of their design, and these Cubist portrait sculptures have a different appearance from each angle.
