Clean Ocean Access Presentation
January 28 @ 8:30 am - 9:00 am
The presentation by Clean Ocean Access to the student body will be regarding the new Healthy Soils Healthy Seas lunchroom zero waste program that we are piloting with them. For three weeks, we (the ECCO kids) will be recording in weight how much we currently throw away, recycle and compost. Then after that, we will get a BIG new compost bin that will live out by the dumpsters and will be emptied weekly by The Compost Plant This company accepts so many more types of food than we currently compost (sandwiches, meats, etc…) that our waste is sure to drop significantly. Again, we will weigh our trash, recycling and compost for three weeks using this new composting program, and measure the differences. Then the ECCO students will make a presentation for the Portsmouth Town Council. Also, COA will use our findings and put them in their database.
