A letter from our PSA President
Dear Parents,
On behalf of The Pennfield School Association (PSA), I would like to extend a warm welcome to our current parents, as well as those who are considering Pennfield as a school for your children. The PSA provides a link between the parent body, and the School’s faculty, administration, and trustees. The PSA is also responsible for promoting school activities and raising funds for extra budget items including classroom and technology needs, student and teacher enrichment, and a variety of other important programs. We are very fortunate to have a highly dedicated and hard-working parent body to help in our efforts. It is my hope that you will take advantage of what the PSA and Pennfield have to offer and that you will play an active role in The Pennfield School community. Studies have shown that strong parent involvement produces students who perform better than otherwise identical programs that do not involve parents as much. There are many ways that you can contribute, whether it be from home or at school, and we would welcome your help in any way you can provide it.
The PSA is always working on new initiatives, including a healthier lunch program, a Friday healthy snack day, an e-newsletter to keep up-to-date on the latest PSA events, a reading challenge, and many other fun family activities. This year we held a Book and Toy Fair that combined a new twist on our annual book fair with educational toys, science kits, and other great holiday gifts. Additionally we are, or have been, busy working on some of our annual events, including MayFair, New Parents Dinner, Giving Tree, Thanksgiving Feast, and the Science Expo. On behalf of the PSA Executive Board (Bernadette Ottiano, Bev Muessel, Blair Alexander, and myself), I again welcome you to Pennfield's community. I am sure that you will find it a warm and welcoming place. It is great to see children so enthusiastic about all that Pennfield has to offer!
